*A Scenic Arrival* your journey starts with a short drive off the main road to our riverside Carpentry Workshop. As you leave the busy road behind, you will arrive at Woody Land Artisans. This is a place where traditional craftsmanship meets the calm of the riverside.
From Observer to Creator: Roll up your sleeves and step into our workshop. This experience invites you to trade your camera for a hammer and paintbrush. Our master carpenters will demonstrate the time-honored methods of Sri Lankan woodwork before handing the tools to you. Under their expert guidance, you will learn Traditional Carpentry, to cut, fix, plan, and paint, & wood craft techniques. You won’t just learn about the craft; you will practice the art of making and finishing your own wooden souvenir.
Beyond the Carpentry workbench: You will enjoy the Woody Land Artisans' refreshing snack while exploring some of our thriving Sri Lankan owned Trees, fruits, Vegetables and some herbal plants that surround our workshop in the village life cycle.
The Scenic Maha Oya River: Our workshop is situated at a stunning point near the Maha Oya, one of Sri Lanka’s most significant waterways. Stretching 134km through the heart of the country, this river is a lifeline for over a million people and a haven for rich biodiversity.
Relax and Recharge: Take in the views of the vibrant, flowing water. Whether you want to enjoy a peaceful fishing experience or capture the perfect nature photograph, the riverbank is the ideal place to find tranquility.
